[UPDATED] Thomasville, Georgia -- August 10, 2011 -- 4PM --
Comfort Inn guest Bill Miles says he wasn't in town when Thomasville narcotics agents arrested William Harper and Charles Burke for meth and other illegal drugs in the motel's parking lot.
Says Miles, "I wouldn't know what to do if it had happened while I was here."
But he says he wasn't surprised to hear about the incident.
He continues, "Meth is everywhere, and I guess it's cheap, and it's a powerful drug, and people are really messing themselves up on it."
Agents say the bust is notable: in addition to crystal meth and regular meth, they say Burke and Harper also had a hand-held meth lab, over 100 Xanax and hydrocodone pills, and two loaded guns in their pick-up truck.
Explains Drug Commander Kevin Lee, "Anytime you show up with two different kinds of meth, and a working meth lab to walk into a hotel, then yeah, I'd say that's a significant arrest."
The motel's general manager says they're helping investigators as much as possible.
She told WCTV that none of the drugs ever made it into a guest's room.
Agents say Burke and Harper are still behind bars, and they'll remain there -- they've been denied bond.
Agents are still investigating whether any guests were waiting to receive the drugs. No further arrests have been made
