Madison, Florida - August 9, 2011 -

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that during the early morning hours of Sunday the 7th day of August 2011 at 1:49 AM, numerous 911 calls were received to report a large crowd gathering at 5806 NE Colon Kelly Drive (Divine Events) and multiple gun shots being fired from assault weapons. All available Sheriff’s Office units immediately responded and further requested mutual aid assistance from the City of Madison Police Department.

While responding units were en route to the scene, additional information was received regarding a description of the vehicle and the occupants responsible for the shooting and had fled the scene. City Police Officers and Sheriff’s Office Deputies located the described vehicle (dark maroon Chevrolet Impala or Malibu) traveling on South Duval Street approaching US 90. A felony traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and each occupant ordered from the vehicle.

Loronya Haynes was the driver of the vehicle and was secured in hand cuffs without incident. A search incident to his arrest resulted in the discovery of less than 20 grams of marijuana and MDMA (Ecstasy). The passengers, Rueben Graham (back seat), Melissa Wilkins and Alexis Choice were further removed from the vehicle and arrested without incident. Officers located an “SKS” style .223 caliber assault rifle on the back seat and a 45 caliber auto “Mack-Ten” assault weapon on the front floor board. Both weapons were in plain view from the exterior of the vehicle and loaded with the safety in the fire position. A continued investigation into the incident discovered spent shell casings at the scene matching the ammo loaded in the weapons. A fifth suspect was positively identified as Brian Hallman for also shooting a firearm at the scene and warrants for his arrest were obtained and he was arrested and charged on Monday the 8th day of August 2011 without incident.

Sheriff Stewart commends his Deputies and the City Police Officers involved in this excellent police work and the removing of these types of firearms and the people that choose to participate in such criminal activity from the communities in Madison County.

The use of the term "assult weapon" shows the level of ignorance the anti-gun nuts spew forth on a daily basis. If I roll up a news paper and hit you with it the paper would be considered a weapon. The proper description would be a semi-automatic firearm. Get it straight people. The wright to bear arms is 100% correct. Protect yourself and shoot center mass.

Obviously you did not read your own reply. It is self explanatory (that means it answers its own questions). Oh, one more thing; Obama said he could "fix" the stuff. Apparently you are not aware that when responsible people hear someone representing themselves as a responsible person say they can do something that it gets done. It is crystal clear Obama has not done what he said he would do. And I for one am extremely pleased that he has not been able to accomplish most of his goals. This nation is far better off for it. 2012 - the end of an error.

I know many good African Americans and many bad white's. It's human nature at it's worst. The news only glorifies the bad to sell more. There is a lot of good in this world; just not in the news. I am a white country boy by the way.

Jamal, I absolutely agree with you. But you are missing something really obvious that pretty much explains "the problem". These individuals have a common thread that links them all together, and really makes them stand out. Can't you guess what that is? It is very plain to see.
