Marianna, FL -- November 5, 2011
On November 4th, 2011 at approximately 9:36pm, officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a blue in color, Mazda sports utility vehicle for the traffic infraction of failing to maintain a single lane of travel.
Upon conducting the stop, officers obtained consent to search the vehicle from the driver. The front passenger of the vehicle, William Adams was removed from the vehicle. During a search of the glove box of the vehicle, officers located a pill bottle which was not prescribed to Adams or anyone else in the vehicle.
The pill bottle was found to contain fifty-eight Hydrocodone pills and eight Methylin pills. Adams was arrested and charged with possession and trafficking in the pills. Adams was secured in a patrol vehicle when officers noticed that Adams was moving around inside the patrol vehicle.
When officers opened the patrol vehicle door, they observed Adams attempting to conceal other items which included one hundred and fifteen over the counter pseudoephedrine tablets and 1.1 grams of Marijuana. Adams was subsequently charged with Possession of Marijuana Less Than 20 Grams and Tampering with Evidence. Adams was transported to the Marianna Police Department for processing and later taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
