A south Georgia party turned violent after two men were shot with the same bullet.

Thomas County investigators say the mood went from festive to fearful at an Ochlocknee, Georgia get-together.

They say around one o'clock this morning, two women got into a fight at the April Street home where a party was being held.

Deputies say the homeowner pulled out a gun -- and guest Montavia Williams allegedly picked it up and fired.

They say she managed to shoot two men with one bullet.

Says Capt. Steve Jones of the Thomas County Sheriff's Office, "We do know that one shot was fired and it passed through Isaac Bardon, and struck [Keith] Davis in the chest. [Keith] Davis died at the scene because of the injury."

Investigators say the bullet hit 17-year-old Isaac Burdon through his left shoulder. They say the bullet then exited through his neck and hit 38-year-old Keith Davis in the chest.

Davis died on scene and Burdon remains at Archbold Memorial Hospital in 'stable' condition.

The Sheriff's Office says while the event is a tragedy, incidents like this one aren't the norm.

"We don't have a lot of shootings like this -- we're really fortunate in this area. But any -- one -- are too many.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working with TCSO to investigate the case further.

They say people were drinking at the party.

Authorities in Thomas County are investigating a fatal shooting.
