The Pelham Police Department says 29-year-old Joshua Butler and a passenger, 32-year-old Sarah Parker, were stopped early (4/17)Sunday morning because Butler's car didn't have a tag.

Once they pulled him over, officers say Butler threw baggies of methamphetamines under his car as he tried to flee.

PPD says officers searched the vehicle and found a hand-held meth lab, as well as a homemade bomb.

Investigators determined the explosive could have injured anyone within a 200-foot radius.

Both Butler and Parker are charged with possession and manufacture of meth.

Butler is also charged with possession of a destructive device.

To the x cop!!!!!! we the people that are smart in georgia are proud of our cops! What should you care about how much the car costs that they ride around in? If they dont have a good car then they cant catch the drug dealers with the souped up cars! The bombs that they found that could travel 200 yds and explode could have hit your families home, your moms sisters or even your best friends home. Why shouldnt you want them to be caught i really want to know why??????? i feel safe at night with all of our officers as in the Sheriff officers the police officers and the investigators and even our state troopers!!!! i wonder if its the fact you are worried they are going to catch you? Is that the reason you dont like them or want them out here looking for people?

What is disturbing is the fact that they had a bomb. These so-called Militias have access to this stuff and they are the ones stock piling them. If these guys decide to revolt there will be alot of damage.

From your post it's obvious why your name is ex cop. Either your full of it, and never were a police officer, or you were surely found to be incompetent, and left the proffession. We sure dont need idots like you. If real cops had opinions like yours the thugs would take over. Step up and do something about the problem instead of bashing the people who are, loser!

Wow, 200 ft. radius, huh? WW2 grenades only had an effective range of 50ft. That was some homemade explosive.

As long as they can nark someone out and get off with a small fine they are going to continue, why not give them prison time and clean up the prisons from all the drugs and then they might change.Alot of them will tell you I ,ll go to prison cause I can get more drugs there than on the street an thats sad!

we are tired of hearing about your drug bust cops. and what a great job you are doing. just bust them and keep it to yourselves. we have been fighting this war since 1983 and it has got worse everyday. but the cops are rideing around in new 50 and 100 thousand dollar cars and suv's. you are not winning nor do you want it to go away.
