A Tallahassee man is in jail tonight after a high speed chase through a residential area in Tallahassee.
When deputies with the Leon County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a white Pontiac yesterday afternoon on Ridge Road in the area of Jake Gaither Golf Course, it took off at a high rate of speed.
A short time later, the Pontiac was spotted on Bragg Drive near South Adams Street. The driver sped off again at an estimated 80 miles per hour, where it crashed into a nearby power pole.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Adrian Madry.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found a small amount of cocaine, as well as a stolen hand gun.
Madry faces several charges including fleeing and eluding, possession of cocaine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
