Gadsden County, Florida - May 25, 2011 -

Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office deputies respond to Friday Road last night when a resident fires a shot at burglars. The resident recently had ongoing problems with theft around his
property when he observed a vehicle drive behind his residence yesterday evening. The armed
resident, along with another subject, followed the vehicle onto their property on foot and
confronted two black males driving a white Ford SUV on their property.

A warning shot was fired at the burglars who then fled with one fleeing on foot and the other
attempting to flee in the white SUV. The subject who fled on foot attempted to enter the
residence but was confronted by the armed resident. The second subject, who attempted to flee in
the vehicle, got stuck next to the residence in which he then fled on foot.
Calvin Wilson, a 38 year old black male from Quincy, FL, who was confronted by an armed
resident and later arrested by Gadsden County deputies. Clifford Edward Allen, a 41 year old
black male also from Quincy, FL, was later arrested after he returned to area on foot. Deputies
were alerted to Allen’s presence based on his soiled clothing, torn shirt and fatigue. Deputies
gave Allen verbal commands detaining him for further investigation. Allen then made a
spontaneous and unsolicited statement that the returned to the resident because he did something

No one was injured and the arrestees are charged with Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling and Trespass, respectively.

Rio, what county are you from, Leon County? A county where an entire neighborhood on Saddle Creek run sat by, allowed babies to be murder by drug dealers and told nothing about what they saw? That county, is that the county you are from? Or perhaps you are from Wakulla County, where you have hp officers on video raping young women they have stopped, Is that the county you are from? I like Quincy. There are no secrets. Everybody knows everything and they tell what they see. They pay attention. They are nosey and believe me if you don’t belong here, they watch you.

A "warning" shot? Just exactly where was this shot fired at? If in the air, then the owner needs to take a gun safety course. Bullets do have to land eventually and could kill.

I know these 2 fools, and I have nothing nice to say about them. You can be their friend and they'll rob you blind,I thought you're supposed to look out for your neighbors(in this case I guess they(2 fools) were looking after the belongings instead)

Let's see if I have this right. The suspect after being Fired on returns to the residence? Not very smart. Looks like he wanted them to finish the job.

FYI, the responding officers/deputies take the initial report which is then forwarded to the investigations unit. It is their responsibility to follow-up on the case. Unfortunately that seems to be lacking.

Why didn't the Sheriffs Department use a Canine tracking unit? Don't they have the prison dogs they use all the time? They would have caught them alot sooner. Good for the home owner.

Can't use DOC's K-9 unit until changes are made. Of course that's thanks to a certain deputy.

I'm just so very happy that the Gsdsden County Sheriff's Office was able to actually arrest someone without the assistance of the Leon County Sheriff;s Office! Maybe Sheriff Young should consider honoring his own deputies with a plaque.

Ha ha! That is funny! Yeah, the story with Young kissing Campbell's tail was really sad. He made himself and his department out to be a bunch of incompetents. There are a handful of deputies that are good ones.
