On April 6, 2012, the Tallahassee Police Department was called to SunTrust Bank located at 1401 Miccosukee Road in reference to a bank robbery. On May 23, 2012, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a bank robbery at the Farmers and Merchants Bank located at 3490 North Monroe Street with a similar suspect description. A collaborative effort between Sheriff’s Detectives and TPD’s Investigators quickly developed a suspect description which eventually led to a named suspect.
With the help of the US Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the suspect was apprehended in Tifton, Georgia. He is currently being held at the
Tift County Jail in Georgia awaiting extradition back to Leon County.
Sheriff Larry Campbell said "Thanks to the on-going collaborative efforts of law enforcement in Tallahassee/Leon County, another violent suspect is off our streets."
“This is yet another outstanding example of teamwork between several agencies to bring this suspect to justice” said TPD Chief Dennis Jones. “I am proud to be a part of the cooperative effort to solve these crimes.”
