Tallahassee, Florida - June 14, 2011 - 1pm -

Tallahassee Police officers responded to the 2400 block of North Monroe Street at approximately 6:20 PM on June 12th, in response to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located 22 year old Wesley Dobson inside the Shell gas station, with a gunshot wound to the face. Officers determined Dobson had been shot during an altercation with an occupant in another vehicle at the intersection of North Monroe Street and Lakeshore Drive then drove to the Shell for help. Officers rendered aid and Dobson was transported to TMH by ambulance.

Follow-up investigation has led to the arrest of Christopher Coutino for Attempted Homicide and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Investigators have determined Dobson and Coutino had an argument outside a nearby restaurant. The two separated prior to a physical confrontation, and both entered their vehicles and drove away.

Both vehicles were traveling northbound on North Monroe Street and came to a stop at the red-light at Lakeshore Drive. Dobson exited his vehicle and approached the passenger's side of Coutino's vehicle, where he began yelling, pointing fingers, and being very animated towards the occupants. Coutino then shot Dobson in the face, made a U-turn and fled from the area. Dobson pulled into the parking lot of the Shell gas station, where officers located him.

Dobson remains at TMH in stable condition. Coutino turned himself in at the Tallahassee Police Department last night, where he was arrested and transported to the Leon County Jail.
