[UPDATE] Tallahassee, Florida - June 22, 2011 - 12:50pm by Deneige Broom

A man is arrested from his home, for the second time in one week. On Wednesday, June 15 at around 7:06 in the morning, FSUPD was called to 608 West Lafayette Street. Major Jim Russell says 31-year-old Phillip Buffkin got angry with construction workers across the street. Russell says Buffkin went into his apartment and came out with what looked like an assault rifle. The construction workers ran inside the building they were working on, and he pounded on the door with the weapon. Russell says Buffkin then smashed the window of a worker's truck. That's when the gun broke. It was a toy and Buffkin had painted its orange tip, black. During a search of his apartment officers found what seemed to be drug paraphernalia and a real gun. Russell says that was not the gun used in today's (6/22) shooting.

In last week's, incident he was charged with three counts of assault with a firearm and two counts of criminal mischief.

Buffkin is not an FSU student.

Lafayette Apartments sit at the corner of Copeland and Lafayette Street just off of FSU's campus. Russell says, it's privately owned.
