A landscaping crew found itself right in the middle of the robbers' run from the law.

Johnny Reed was using a weed whacker on the side of the bank. He said he saw two young men running and figured perhaps they were going to class or forgot something, but he soon realized the men had robbed the bank.

"I seen the older and the taller young guy running," Reed said, "So when he came by, that's when I seen he had a stack of money from here to about right here, bending over, holding it and running."

Chris Melton was working nearby too.

"The first one dropped the knife and the second one went to pick it up and the guy from the bank came out and yelled something. I was wearing headphones so I couldn't hear it," Melton said.

A police k-9 tracked the men's trail down High Road and a helicopter searched for them from above. Neither had any luck.
