Thomasvilel, GA -- February 1, 2012 --
Antonio Cody was arrested in Thomasville on Jan. 31st by Thomas County narcotics officers. During the bust, Cody attempted to run, but narcotics officers detained him.
Following a struggle, the officers noticed Cody had put something in his mouth. They then recovered a bag of marijuana from his mouth, but he would not give up the rest of what he was holding until EMS arrived.
"EMS was there, they offered to talk to him, and convinced him that the cocaine in his mouth was fatal, he then also spit out another bag of cocaine," said Thomas County Narcotics Commander Kevin Lee.
Cody was charged with posession and intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana. He also faces three counts of obstruction of justice.
Investigators believe Cody used a camera system at the front door wired to a TV to alert himself of the arriving officers.
