Wakulla County, FL - Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office undercover detectives arrested three Tallahassee residents Jan. 18 following a drug bust involving the sale and possession of synthetic narcotics. Painkillers were sold to undercover detectives during the “buy bust” operation, according to Sheriff David Harvey.

The Tallahassee residents included: Tabbatha Lynn Houck, 31, of 11204 Brightstar Circle, who was charged with possession of synthetic narcotics and sale of synthetic narcotics. Jason Michael Smith, 33, of 2026 Autumn Lane, charged with sale of synthetic narcotics, burglary of a dwelling, grand theft and criminal mischief. Matthew Ray Nipper, 25, of 11075 Brigade Drive, charged with sale of synthetic narcotics and an outstanding warrant.

Law enforcement officials made a fourth arrest of a Crawfordville man involved in two separate burglary cases. Dustin Keith Swain, 25, of 2913 Shadeville Road in Crawfordville was charged with two counts of burglary of a structure, grand theft and violation of probation.

Detectives were investigating the Crawfordville burglaries that were committed earlier in January and obtained information about the location of the stolen property in Leon County. A search warrant was obtained for the Leon County property. Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Wakulla Sheriff’s Office investigators recovered the stolen property following the execution of the search warrant.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Houck as a possible suspect who was selling narcotics. A controlled purchase was arranged at a Wakulla County bar. The transaction took place and Houck was arrested with a large quantity of pills and cash which were seized along with a vehicle.

Baggies of pills, empty baggies used to package narcotics for sale and a pill crusher were seized during the “buy bust.”

During the course of the search warrant in Leon County, a safe was recovered containing a large quantity of pills and cash. The stolen Crawfordville property recovered included: oxygen tanks, welding gauges, a double barrel muzzle loader, welder and a chain saw. The chain saw was taken from a resident on Big White Oak Lane in Crawfordville and the rest of the property was stolen from a home on Timberwood Road in Crawfordville.

The four individuals remain in the Wakulla Count y Jail. The case was investigated by the Narcotics and the Criminal Investigations units.
