Madison County, Florida - January 4, 2012
Two people are in serious condition after an accident on US-19, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident took place on US-19, just south of SW York Avenue in Madison County, Florida around 2pm on January 3rd.
Sheila Sayers, 51, was heading northbound on US-19 when her vehicle struck the rear end of Robert Valdez's camper. Valdez, 53, had been pulling a camper with his pickup truck, but had gotten out to refuel his disabled vehicle.
Both people involved in the accident were taken to Tallahassee Memorial with serious injuries. FHP says that the accident was not alcohol related.
Charges are pending.
A serious accident in Madison County sent two people to the hospital.
It all happened around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Troopers say Robert Valdez was stopped in the right lane on US 19 just south of Southwest York Ave.
He was attempting to refuel his Ford pickup truck.
Officials say that's when Sheila Sayers who was driving a 2008 Chevrolet rammed into the rear of Valdez' truck.
Both were listed to have serious injuries. They were treated at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
