Chattahoochee, FL - October 22, 2012 - 7:03 p.m.
Eddy Thames turned around just in time to see a log truck crash into several parked vehicles, right in front of his furniture store.
"I heard tires screeching and glass and metal crunching," said Thames. "He had to be going pretty fast."
The impact pushed the line of vehicles about 30 feet down Highway 90 in Chattahoochee.
It sent a pickup truck plowing through the front window of Badcock furniture.
That's when the store owner, Thames, who also works for the Chattahoochee Fire Department, sprang into action.
"We had to cut them out," said Thames. "The doors wouldn't work. There were two ladies strapped inside and we had to use the jaws."
One of the women was taken by life flight to the hospital.
Portions of Highway 90 were shutdown for hours while the Florida Highway Patrol investigated the scene.
We still don't know the identities of anyone involved or the condition of the injured women.
We're still waiting to get more information from FHP about why the log truck driver lost control.
