[UPDATE] 3-9 1:55pm --
Repairs on Country Club Drive are complete, and the road officially reopened at Noon today. Normal traffic has resumed on the road, which has been closed since Feb. 7 for repairs to a collapsed manhole and culvert crossing. The project was completed two days ahead of schedule.
City Engineer Pat Collins praised the work of city staff and Standard Contractors who have worked diligently for weeks to make the necessary repairs. The city appreciates the patience of area residents, businesses, and Valdosta motorists while crews completed the extensive work in this area.

Country Club Drive between Williamsburg Drive and Pine Point Circle is still under repair.
On February 7, crews discovered a collapsed manhole and began fixing it.
Officials expected the project to be completed within several days but heavy rains caused further damage.
For now, it's causing congestion on North Valdosta Road, as motorists are detoured to Smithbriar Drive.
"The leaving of work has been kinda aggravating because we have to use this little intersection on North Valdosta Road that really seems dangerous," said Allen Wadsworth, of Hahira, who works in Valdosta and relies on Country Club Drive.
City officials say Country Club Drive will remain closed for the next two to three weeks.
