FHP Monitoring Hamilton Co. Roads During Prescribed Burn

HAMILTON CO., Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol is monitoring U.S. 41 and County Road 135 in Hamilton County for smoke/fog visibility issues resulting from a 34 acre controlled burn within Big Shoals State Park.

The burn is expected to be completed prior to the evening hours. Motorists however are urged to use caution when traveling in these areas.

Visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke/fog conditions especially during the night time and early morning hours.

Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed and utilize low beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions.
