If you say yes and they break something the agency is liable
Just cause you say yes does not give any LEO permission to break the vehicle. Also if there is enough reason to create probable cause to think something illegal is in the car then you can say no till your blue in the face, but it want stop a search. The reason they brought the dog out is he can search the truck quickly and pin point the ruff location of the drugs instead of sitting out there all day wasting time and money. Its stuff like this that helps us keep just staying afloat on the losing battle of the drug war.

The FHP would know if they found drugs unless it actually had 'DRUGS' written on the package.

Maybe there was a box or something stuck between two of the vehicles on the back - truly innocent, just to set there while they were traveling because it needed to go too, and someone saw it at a red light and called in "There's DRUGS!" But sure enough FHP, LCSO jumped in quick regardless of how they got the tip- I guess they had to, the truck was almost out of Florida.

why is there reason for egg on anyone's face? just because there weren't any drugs found doesn't mean there weren't any there before. good job to all the agencies working on this, maybe next time you get them before they drop them off.

Yet another waste of resources and tax payers money. If people want to use drugs let them. there would be a lot less crime, and eventualy a lot less drug addicts.
