One Fatality on Highway 20 West of Raymon Cochrane Road

Tallahassee, FL -July 4, 2012-UPDATE-

A crash on State Road 20 Tuesday night (7-3-12) claimed the life of a 52-year-old Donald Johnson of Tallahassee.

People in the area say Johnson was well-liked and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a father of three and a grandfather of at least six. He also served as a deacon at a nearby church.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Donald Robert Johnson, 52, was traveling west in a Toyota Tundra on State Road 20 around 9:55pm on July 3rd when he traveled off the roadway onto the north shoulder. Once n the shoulder, the vehicle collided with a guardrail, overturned, and collided with a utility pole. The truck came to rest on its left side facing south on the north shoulder. The driver, Donald Robert Johnson, suffered fatal
injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene.

FHP is waiting for a toxicology report at this time.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Tallahassee Fire Department, Leon County EMS, Talquin Electric, and Florida Power and Light.

A recent one-car accident near the intersection of Hwy. 20 and North by Northwest Rd. has resulted in one fatality. The accident occurred around 10 pm.

It seems the vehicle hit an electric pole and has knocked out power for some in the area. The Florida Highway Patrol has reported to the scene.
