Tallahassee, FL - A traffic headache is over for residents in the Tallahassee area... Even better news-- it's ahead of schedule!
For about 2 months the roundabout was closed due to storm water improvements construction. The 1.28 million dollar project caused heavy traffic through neighborhoods because of detours, but the city says this was much needed. They installed new pipes that should help with flood drainage which has been a big problem here in the past.
The 1.28 million came from storm water fees on city utility bills--meaning, your tax dollars at work. And if you feel like its one of many roundabouts in Tallahassee--you're right! The city maintains 15 of them. And that could make your head spin...
