Tallahassee, FL -- September 19, 2011 --
Motorists traveling Monroe Street between Jefferson Street and Thomasville Road will encounter intermittent delays in the northbound and southbound lanes Monday, Sept. 19 through Friday, Sept. 23. Crews from Stampede Construction will raise manholes along the corridor from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. nightly. In addition, Paveway Systems crews will pave crosswalks at Call Street and at Virginia Street Tuesday night, September 20. One lane of traffic will be maintained.
This work is part of a $2.5 million construction project to resurface and add safety improvements to Monroe Street from Perkins Street to Thomasville Road. Work began February 2011 and is scheduled for completion November 2011.
Motorists are reminded to use caution while traveling through the construction zone.
