Tallahassee, FL - The northbound outside lane of Monroe Street between Perkins Street and Oakland Avenue will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011 through Saturday, February 12. The lane closure will allow the contractor to lower manhole covers and valves.
This work is part of the $2.5 million construction contract to resurface Monroe Street, repair sidewalks, replace non-compliant curb ramps and pedestrian signal features throughout the project. Capital Asphalt began work on the 280-day project January 31.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to use caution while traveling through the construction zone, speeding violations double when workers are present.
