Log Truck Crashes, Catches Fire [GALLERY]

Madison County, FL - A log truck driving on County Road 255 crashed near the intersection of County Road 53 Monday afternoon in Madison County. The accident happened around 3:45pm.

The driver of the truck says a blown tire was the cause of the accident. The driver smelled smoke and was able to leap out of the truck before the fire started. He was not injured.

The Lee Volunteer Fire Department, Madison County Fire Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County EMS, Florida Highway Patrol and the Division of Forestry assisted on scene.

County Road 255 was shut down for several hours while the scene was cleared up.
