Florida Highway Patrol says that just after 9:00p.m., 21-year-old Amy Newman was traveling north on State Road 53 at Rocky Springs Church Road in Madison County.

Troopers say Newman was approaching a curve in the road when her car overturned and collided with a tree.

Newman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Madison County, FL -- August 31, 2011 --

At approximately 9:20 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 Madison County 911 Center received notification of a traffic crash on Hwy 53 North at Rocky Springs Church Road.

Madison County Emergency Medical Services, Madison County Sheriff's Department, Cherry Lake Fire/Rescue and Madison Fire/Rescue were dispatched to the scene.

First responders found a single vehicle crash in the trees and by 9:30 PM EMS confirmed the death of the occupant of the vehicle. No
additional information is available at this time (9:38 PM).
