OIL ON ROAD HAZARD TO TRAFFIC
Shortly after 9:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 the Madison 911 Dispatch Center received a report of oil on Hwy 90 East at Yellow Pine Avenue.
The responding deputy sheriff found a large amount of oil on the highway and requested assistance from the Madison Fire Department.
Fire personnel put an absorbing agent on the spill but the amount of oil was such that they requested the Department of Transportation handle the clean-up.
The source of the oil was a semi traveling through Madison that experienced a severe mechanical failure.
