January 9, 2012 -

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Veronica Adkins Foxworth of Port St. Joe, Florida was seriously injured in an accident on January 9th at 5am in Franklin County.

Foxworth was traveling westbound on US-98 (SR-30). The vehicle exited the roadway, rotating clockwise, off the north shoulder. The vehicle overturned and continued to travel westbound while it was upside down. The vehicle then collided with a old utility pole stump, causing the top of the vehicle to be "peeled" back.

Foxworth was transported to Weems Hospital in Apalachicola.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.

The FHP was assisted on scene by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and Franklin EMS.
