Tallahassee, Florida - 5-10
Map is attached above.
Blueprint 2000, which previously advised that sections of Franklin Boulevard, Meridian Street and Lafayette Street, including the Apalachee Parkway off-ramp to Franklin Boulevard would be closed for eight (8) months beginning on Monday, May 16th, announces that the road closures will now take place on Wednesday, May 18, and continue through January 2012. The road closures are needed to safely install a 12’ x 8’ stormwater box culvert beneath Franklin Boulevard from Lafayette Street to Pensacola Street. Additional construction work at this location will include new turn lanes, signal upgrades, roadway and intersection improvements, utility relocations and upgrades and the construction of trails, stream restoration and a stormwater pond in Cascade Park.
In preparation for the closures, Blueprint staffers will be stationed at the intersections of Tennessee Street and Franklin Boulevard and at the intersection of East Pensacola Street and Franklin Boulevard to pass out flyers and stress balls to drivers on Monday, May 16th from 7:30 a.m to 9:00 a.m.
The road closures are part of the Cascade Park construction project. Detour routes will be clearly marked and motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the construction area and along the detour routes. Attached and enclosed is a map of the detour routes.
