Deputies have released the identity of a South Georgia man who died after losing control of his car near a local creek.
The Colquitt County Sheriff's Office say 30-year-old Derrick Chester of Albany, Georgia over-corrected his Nissan Sentra and went off the right shoulder into the creek. It all happened early yesterday (4/18) morning on Highway 37 East.
Divers who recovered Chester's body say he was the only victim in the crash.
It happened on Highway 37 East. Details are scarce, but deputies said the victim is in his thirties.
They said he veered off the road into a creek. Divers were called to the scene to make sure the victim was alone in the vehicle. The accident is still under investigation.
