Tallahassee Fire Department Cuts Two People From Afternoon Rollover Accident on I-10

March 30, 2012

At 2:45 p.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a two vehicle rollover accident in the westbound lane of Interstate 10 at mile marker 199. Firefighters used extrication equipment to remove two patients who were entrapped in one vehicle. Both patients were transported to TMH by Leon County EMS. Two dogs were also inside the vehicle and were transported in good condition by Leon County Animal Control for further examination. The driver of the second vehicle was not taken to the hospital and was evaluated and released by TFD Paramedics. No other injuries were reported at the
scene and the crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Tallahassee, Florida - March 30, 2012 -- 4:14pm

FHP says two vehicles were involved in accident on I-10 West near exit 199 US-27. Two people were in one vehicle and another person was in SUV.

FHP states SUV driver says a ladder fell off of the vehicle in front of him and he swerved to miss it. The second vehicle overturned somehow.

SUV driver is fine while the driver and passenger in second car have been taken to TMH; and two dogs in car were taken to Northwood Animal Hospital to be checked out.

Both of the vehicles were just removed from the scene. Took about an hour and a half to clear the area. Traffic is moving but slowly at the moment.

No update yet on the conditions of the people in the gold car who were taken to the hospital.

Tallahassee, Florida - March 30, 2012 - 3:20pm -

The Tallahassee Fire Department had to cut two people from a vehicle after a serious accident on I-10. The accident took place around 3pm on I-10 west at Exit 199 (US-27).The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the on-ramp is closed and traffic is moving slowly in the westbound lane.

The injuries and conditions of those involved in the accident are unknown at this time.
