TPD Sobriety and Safety Checkpoint on Oct. 25
Tallahassee, Florida - October 25, 2011 -
This evening, the Tallahassee Police Department will be hosting a safety checkpoint in the Tallahassee area. The checkpoint will run from 9:00p.m. to 10:30p.m. and will be held in the 300 Block of East 5th Avenue.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to detect drivers who are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle, detect vehicles with faulty equipment, and those operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.
The checkpoints will be well marked by signage, marked patrol vehicles, and uniformed officers. The checkpoints are designed to have a minimal impact on traffic flow and to save lives.
