Tallahassee, Florida - April 3, 2012 -
This evening, the Tallahassee Police Department will be hosting a safety and sobriety checkpoint in the Tallahassee area. The checkpoint will run from 8:00pm to 9:00pm and will be in the 200 block of Chapel Drive.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to detect drivers who are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle, detect vehicles with faulty equipment, and those operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.
The checkpoint will be well marked by signage, marked patrol vehicles, and uniformed officers. The checkpoint is designed to have a minimal impact on traffic flow and to save lives.
