Tallahassee, Florida - December 21, 2011 - Noon -
A single car crash in Tallahassee closed down West Tennessee Street and sent two people to the hospital this morning. Officers say they're surprised the passengers survived.
Tallahassee police say they are pleasantly surprised the people in the crash made it out alive. TPD says the driver was heading westbound, crossed the median and continued heading west in the wrong lane. The car knocked down traffic signals, then finally stopped when it crashed down on Academic Way on FSU's campus.
We don't have much information about the people in that car or what investigators believe happened right before the crash.
The two in the car are believed to just have some broken bones and as of right now, they don't seem to have life threatening injuries.
The fire department had to cut the two out of the car, but once again, police say considering everything that led up to the car finally ending up where it did, they're somewhat amazing the injuries weren't any worse.
Tennessee Street was blocked for a while during the investigation and the traffic signals and signs were being replaced around 10:30 this morning.
