[UPDATE] Tallahassee Police Prepare for Inauguration

There are street closures of Park Avenue from MLK to Monroe Street for the Parade staging as well as vendors setting up in Ponce de Leon Park and E. Peck Greene Park.


The Tallahassee Police Department will assist with safety and traffic direction during the Inauguration events planned for next week. While the events are anticipated to only cause slight delays to the motoring public, the Tallahassee Police Department recommends that motorists seek alternate routes for those not participating in the inauguration of Governor Elect Rick Scott. The following roadways will be closed for events related to the Inauguration:

Monroe Street will be closed between East Jefferson Street and East Gaines Street.

Apalachee Parkway will be closed from South Monroe Street to Franklin Boulevard from 9:30 a.m. - Noon for the Inaugural Ceremony at the Old Capitol Building.

Staging for the Inaugural Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. on Call Street from Monroe Street to Macomb Street and on M.L. King Boulevard from Tennessee Street to Park Avenue.

Beginning at 1:00 p.m., Monroe Street will close between Tennessee Street and Gaines Street.

Apalachee Parkway will be closed from Monroe Street to Franklin Boulevard for the Inaugural Parade. Additionally, Madison Street will be closed from Railroad Avenue to Monroe Street.

The route for the Inaugural Parade is Monroe Street south from Call Street to Madison Street and will proceed west on Madison Street to Macomb Street where it disembarks at the Civic Center.
