Press Release: City of Tallahassee
Next week, the City of Tallahassee will be installing overhead electric lines across Interstate-10 near Mahan Drive. The westbound on-ramp from Mahan Drive to I-10 (exit 209) will be closed in the early morning hours from 1 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5.
During this time, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) will perform a traffic pacing operation. Motorists traveling both east and westbound on I-10 should expect delays as traffic will be slowed to approximately 10 -15 miles per hour to safely allow for the placement of the power lines across the interstate.
Detours will be posted at the on-ramp, and message boards are in place along I-10 to alert motorists of the approaching change in traffic patterns and speeds. Motorists are urged to use caution.
The City of Tallahassee is committed to providing reliable electric service to its customers. For more information about City of Tallahassee Utilities, please visit Talgov.com/YOU. To receive traffic updates via Twitter follow @COTTraffic.
