Traffic Crash at Ocala and Continental Sends One Person to Hosptial

A 4-car accident in Tallahassee sent one person to the hospital and left a road closed for more than an hour.

It happened today around 3 o clock at the intersection of Ocala Road and Continental Avenue. Police say the driver of one of the cars pulled out in front of a Pontiac. They say the Pontiac swerved into oncoming traffic. The driver of a Jeep made contact with the Pontiac and overturned. The driver of that jeep is at TMH and is expected to be okay. Investigators continue to survey the the scene for a clear cause, and no word yet on whether charges will be filed against any of the drivers.

A traffic crash at Ocala and Continental in Tallahassee sends one person to a local hospital.

Drivers are cautioned to avoid the area since the road will be shutdown. No word on how long the shutdown is expected to last.

Few details are available about the accident at this time. The crash happened at around 3:15pm this afternoon.

    My Fiance and I were in the shopping center when the fire trucks and cop cars went by.. We didnt think nothing of it till we pulled out and went over that hill and saw the road blocked going to Tharpe street we had to turn around and the idiots trying to get passed the cops on ocala and tennessee was enough to cause an accident... That wreck was horrible... Im glad noone was hurt bad

    Second major collision at this intersection in the past six months. Visibility is limited at this intersection due to the slight hill. We need a light here.

      If people would slow down and pay attention there would be no need for a light...but since that wont happen, I agree. Soon there will be traffic lights every 20ft because people are inconsiderate and dont follow rules.

        yep yep, soon this town will be so choked that it will take you 30 minutes to go a few blocks. First they drop the speed limit, next they install a light and then they drop the number of lanes down...and finaly they close the road all together (Woodward Avenue).

    Slow down! You have plenty of time to pick up fried chicken and beer and still get home to see the game.

    Any news re the traffic crash on 27N at Talpeco around 7:30pm Wednesday? Convenience store clerk said four cars were involved and that three people had already been taken to the hospital, but narry a word about in paper or on news??

    Based on that picture I would not want to roll over in a Jeep! Hope the person recovers fully and quickly.

      geez! That is bad! There is no reason car manufacturers can't design an internal roll bar into all vehicles or at least have the pop-up roll bars like the Volvos, mercedes and BMWs have. Of course, that cost moeny and the extra $1000 is too much when it comes to saving a life.
