The driver of the truck decided to go through a red light. The accident was not the motorcycle driver's fault. And yes people who drive cars or motorcycles need to pay attention and if they here or see emergency vehicles they need to get the heck out of the way and quit acting like they are deaf.

The reason it takes so long for fire trucks to get there, is that they are heavy trucks and people don't always move to the side of the roads like they should be to let the firefighters through, likewise with police and EMS. But people complain that they take to long. Also, I think Tallahassee needs to wake up and pay attention to the roads and motorcyclist. I am one and have had many of close calls with people not paying attention to the road.

I saw the accident after it had already occured. The motorcycle was flaming, and fire extinguishers were being used by regular citizens to put out the fire. No official vehicles had arrived at that point. I think we should all carry fire extinguishers in our cars in case something like that would occur. It takes so long for any official help to arrive. It really made me thing about being prepared. I hope the motorcyclist is ok. He was lying but the side of the road as I drove by. Helmet or not, motorcycle are so dangerous and the traffic, impatient and distracted drivers just add to the hazards!

Better yet, we could all pay more taxes, and have the government put fire extinguishers on every street corner.
