A late night car crash claims the lives of two people, including a toddler.

It all happened near Bayberry Lane at Blountstown highway in Leon County.

The accident happened out around midnight, and by looking at the road, it appears the driver was heading north to Tennessee Street about half a mile up the road.

Sheriff deputies say the 2004 Chevy Cavalier started to swerve and skid along the road. Marks drawn on the road show where it went off the road into this grassy area. The car struck a utility pole, continued on to hit a tree behind it then came to final rest.

Leon County deputies confirm 26 year Roy Conyers, the driver, and a two year old boy, Otis Harley, were ejected from the car. Conyers died on the scene. The child was taken to Tallahassee Memorial but died from his injuries.

Another passenger 24 year old Lakerria Smith was taken to TMH and she's listed in critical condition.

Deputies say the accident is still under investigation.
