[UPDATE] Woodville, Florida- August 17, 2012

The driver of a pickup who hit a six year old boy in Woodville is now facing criminal charges.

Florida Highway Patrol would not go into much detail about the child's condition but they do say his injuries are not life threatening.
The accident happened just after 4 yesterday on Woodville Highway where it intersects at Natural Bridge Road which can be a busy road.

Troopers say the 6 year old and some friends were trying to cross.
A few made it over, but when the boy tried he was hit by a pick-up truck.
FHP says behind the wheel of that truck was 39 year old Bryan Smith.\

So far all Smith is being charged with is driving with a suspended license.
The boy, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
