Interstate 95 has been shut down in both directions in an area of central Florida, while firefighters battle a wildfire that so far has burned 16,000 acres.
More than a dozen agencies were fighting the blaze along the
Brevard-Volusia county line on Wednesday. U.S. 1 remains open
The blaze started Monday, jumping from Volusia County into
Brevard County, about 25 miles north of the Kennedy Space Center,
and across the Intercoastal Waterway from Cape Canaveral.
Officials say the fire was 25 percent contained late Tuesday.
So far, it has destroyed a mobile home and two hunting camps.

A central Florida wildfire that quickly grew to around 4,000 acres has prompted evacuations and destroyed
at least two structures.
Officials say a 20-mile section of Interstate 95 along Florida's Space Coast remained closed Monday night. The Florida Highway Patrol ordered the highway closure earlier after the fire jumped a section located around the border of Brevard and Volusia counties. Officials have also closed U.S. 1.
The fire forced the evacuation of nearby campgrounds and trailer parks. About 20 residents left their homes.
Forestry officials say two hunting cabins were destroyed.
Firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
