Two Fatalities in Blountstown Highway Accident [SLIDE SHOW]

Updated: 09/25/2012 - On September 24, 2012, at 12:08 am, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Blountstown Highway and Bayberry Lane in reference to a traffic crash. As the vehicle approached the intersection of Bayberry Lane, it swerved to the left and traveled off of the roadway and onto the east shoulder, striking a utility pole. The car then struck a tree and continued into the wood line adjacent to Blountstown Highway.

[UPDATE] FL Dept. of Transportation Isaac Update

Updated: 08/29/2012 - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is providing an update on road and bridge closures and restrictions in Northwest Florida due to Hurricane Isaac. Scheduled highway maintenance and construction will resume Wednesday, Aug. 29. FDOT has suspended interstate maintenance and construction until further notice. All rail, transit and seaport facilities are functioning as normal.

[UPDATE] Cattle Truck and Car Collide on I-10-SLIDESHOW

Updated: 08/11/2012 - After a semi overturned, cattle that were inside of the semi's trailer broke free of the damaged hauler, and began to run across all lanes of I-10. The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down for the saftey of the cattle and the motoring public.
