The town of Camilla, Georgia has its first black female mayor. In its 150 year history its never had a black or female mayor.

Candidate Mary Jo Haywood is the unofficial winner. With 100% of precincts reporting, Haywood has 53% of the vote. Jay Powell has 47%. Results will be certified within the next three days.

In the town's 150-year history, only white men have held the position as mayor for the town. Over the past week, several of Haywood's signs were stolen and dumped in the trash sparking questions of racism.

City officials say someone from the Secretary of State's office was on hand Tuesday to monitor the election.
