BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) _ Republican Matt Hudson has beat Democrat Linda McDonald for the Florida House of Representatives
District 101 seat in a special general election.
The election was held last night to fill a vacancy left by Representative Mike Davis who died of cancer in September. The term expires at the end of 2008.
The unofficial results showed Hudson received 3,583 or 60 percent of the vote, while McDonald got 2,389 or 40 percent of the vote.
District 101 includes Collier County east of Interstate 75 and parts of western Broward County.
Hudson is a real estate agent; McDonald a special education teacher at Golden Gate Middle School.
