We asked the governor why he came to Gadsden County.
He said, "Well, just a plea for help, um, you know, our job is to serve the public and we understand that there are some needs in Gadsden. It's our nearby neighbor and we love her and we want to do everything we can to be of help."
County Commissioner Brenda Holt says the most crucial need is the need for a jail, economic development, and the most important, the need for a hospital.
County Commissioner Brend Holt said, "We have people that need a hospital. We are looking to the state of Florida and the governor to present us with any initiative, any help that we can get to move forward on the hospital issue."
Now the county will start a work group with Gov. Crist and his staff. From there the Crist administration will provide Gadsden with recommendations, and of course the governor's hand, in pushing for some change.
