MIAMI (AP) _ Senator John McCain hopes the Spanish-language Republican debate will debunk the message that Republicans are
anti-Hispanic.
He says Republicans are the Hispanic party because they support small business, less regulations and lower taxes.
McCain also announced a National Hispanic Advisory Board at a small town hall meeting yesterday.
He also planned to broadcast a message to Hispanic voters nationwide after the debate from the famed Versailles restaurant. His short speech will be broadcast to roughly 200 Hispanic McCain "fiestas'' around the country via Internet.
More than 60 elected officials including prominent local Hispanics Representatives Mario and Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Illeana Ros-Lehtinen and Mayor Carlos Alvarez are part of the advisory board.
