MIAMI (AP) _ Presidential contender Mike Huckabee was planning to spend less than a day in Florida before returning to Iowa today. Iowa's first in the nation nominating caucuses are next week.
Huckabee spoke briefly to reporters yesterday evening after getting off a plane from Iowa and heading to a private fundraiser for about 60 people at a South Florida home. He said fundraising events the day after Christmas are hard to find.
The former Arkansas governor spent yesterday morning hunting
pheasant in Iowa and said he'd be back in that state by this afternoon.
He joked he was looking forward to eventually trading his winter coat for Bermuda shorts and sandals and spending more time campaigning in Florida.
