Early Voting for Florida Primary

Because of Florida's early-voting laws, Floridians can cast ballots before the Michigan primary on Tuesday, that is if they vote on Monday the first day of early voting.

"For me personally I just think that it doesn't really matter too much if you vote early or vote on time as long as your decision hasn't swayed one way or the other," says Sharon Lesch, a Leon County resident.

Only Democrats and Republicans are permitted to vote in the presidential primary in Florida, But everyone will be able to vote on the property tax amendment.

"I think it's going to be an interesting election, I really do. I think its going to be very interesting," says Karen Kelly, a Leon County Resident.

This voting season is very different than in the past with Florida being the first "big state" to hold a primary.

But the national parties have punished Florida for holding a primary prior to February 5, but Florida is proceeding with it's plans.

The punishments includes stripping the state of all Democratic delegates and half its Republican delegation to the national nominating conventions.

If you decide to vote at the Leon County courthouse, you can park at the Kleman Plaza or Calhoun Street Parking Garage for free for the first hour.

Just make sure to show your parking pass to a poll worker and they'll validate it for you.
