Leon County also reported a 20 percent animal control staff vacancy, which significantly increases their response times. These reductions come right down to even how often the grass is mowed around the county --mostly resulting from budget cuts.

Alan Rosenzweig, the Assistant County Administrator says, "Amendment one passed and there's about a 12.8 million dollar hit that we're anticipating leon county having to take in that reduction. The board, starting about a year ago, has been proactive in trying to minimize county expenses."
