Ed Depuy Ready for More

The race for County Commission At Large Group 1 has been a lively one in recent days. Incumbent Ed Depuy had two challengers for his job in this nonpartisan race with 100 percent of the vote--Depuy with 45 percent, Akinyemi with 31 percent, and Alma Gonzalez with 24 percent. So Depuy and Akinyemi are headed to the general election in November.

Commissioner Depuy says his race has been tough one and he is not discouraged that he hasn't cleared the finish line. He says he welcomes the campaign trail ahead.

"Mr. Akinyemi is an educated articulate nice guy. We actually get along pretty good, so we'll let the people decide if they like his message or if they like my record of what I have done in the last several years. Then, it will be a clear decision for them to make." said Depuy.
