Tuesday's Debate Swaying Voters?

Eyewitness News has received comments from many people saying Tuesday night's debate was enough for them to finally decide their candidate. But for others it wasn't so clear. Many voters are looking for straight answers--a simple yes or no from the candidates.

Aside from that, polls of uncommitted voters by our network affiliates place Barack Obama as the winner, but if you ask people on the street, some want better answers and they're not rushing their choice.

Janet Morgan, who says she leans Democratic, feels like the candidates do not see the true severity of the problems facing Americans. "I'm still not convinced that either one of them can really get us out of the problems that were in. I think that the problems are much more serious then what we are being led to believe." said Morgan.

Sam Sweazy, a Tallahassee resident, feels similar. He said, "I think they both could have answered the questions a little more directly. They did a lot of sweet talk. They didn't really answer the questions. They didn't really address the issues."

Right now, the economy is still the hot topic for the candidates and the voters. And we'll see if that still stands on October 15th during the next debate in New York, which will focus on domestic policy.
