Kids Voting wrapped up in Leon County as kids polls closed Tuesday night.
Supervisors of the Kids Voting Leon County organization say 6,000 kids turned out to vote with their families.
Volunteers had estimated that they would see about 10,000 students hit the polls on election day, but say they believe they had fewer students come out because many parents voted early this year.
Organizers say things went very smoothly and they had 30 volunteers come out to help tally the votes.
" We used student volunteers, we had some retirees. We had college students, a lot of professionals came out to help us, and um...It was just great, we had a super time, and Superintendent Pons come out and assisted us," said Betsy McCauley, of Leon County Kids Voting.
Organizers say Obama was also selected as the President in the Kids Voting total.
The kids voting boxes were tallied last night at the "Kids Voting Central" at a law firm in Tallahassee.
